Gerry the Exec

Welcome Harriet, Mistress of Smooth Operations

Last week was a week of many firsts – most importantly welcoming the first full-time employee into Team kAAKAO, the Mistress of Smooth Operations.

Meet harriet, mistress of smooth operations

Err, she actually has a lovely name, Harriet, but we have a habit of calling people something else than their real name in our company. Gerry the Exec was the first working name, but she’ll most likely evolve into¬†Mistress of Smooth Operations, joining the Master of The Important Stuff and yours truly, Queen of Everything. Harriet is currently doing a little bit of everything. I could do a mini-interview with her, good idea?

So back to a week of firsts.

kAAKAO chocolate

hello china!

We produced our first ever invoice, to HONG KONG of all places in this big world. It was one of those ‘pinch-me’ moments, realising that people in Asia will have a chance to buy a piece of kAAKAO goodness. And that’s actually spot on, because the Japanese and Chinese who visited our stand at a trade fair show a few weeks back were IN LOVE with the product and with the brand.

This week our bars are FINALLY coming to the UK after a few hurdles along the way. We’re also a few days away from shipping to Finland and we’ve just sent off an offer to AUSTRALIA. Let’s see if it’s successful. Again, pinch me.

I almost finished this post on Friday, but then caught a cold after lunch and started sneezing like a madwoman. Spent the entire weekend in bed and now I’m luckily feeling a bit better, but staying at home another day.

Entrepreneur kAAKAO

Tomorrow I’m off to Stockholm for a few meetings and a meet up with my very favourite entrepreneurial network that I was invited into almost 10 years ago. Time flies when you’re having fun. Another few exciting days ahead…
