Roasted Cavolo Nero

Cavolo Nero is mostly availbale in the fall, but sometimes you'll see it in the shops throughout the year. It's the kale crown jewel: pretty to look at with an indulgent flavour.

I've recently discovered the use of miso paste in pretty much everything savoury (or maybe the day will come when I make a sweet miso cake...) and it doesn't get much easier than this. 

 

 

 

Preparation time: 20minutes | 4 helpings

Ingredients

200g cavolo nero
1 tbsp miso paste
2 tbsp olive oil
2 tbsp soy sauce
1 tsp honey
3 tbsp hot water

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Place the cavolo nero on a baking tin or an oven-safe mould mix all the other liquid ingredients together for the dressing and pour it over the cavolo nero
2. Bake it in 150 degrees for 20 minutes and make sure that you move around the leaves after about 10 minutes to allow them to marinate in the sauce as much as possible
3. Serve immediately or wait until the leaves have cooled down, thy are equally delicious then
